Penang, the first in the country, <EMAS Kids> , a first aid for kids
programme was introduced and conducted, to equip kids with the basic in
first aid knowledge and skills. This programme is to target the kids age
between 4 - 6, where within this time, they have a strong learning ability
to learn first aid..
First aid skills that are
taught to the kids include:
- How to get help
- Calling of 999
emergency line
- Wounds & bleeding
- Fall
- Fire
- Burn & scald
- Sprain
- Animal bites & bee
stings
- Fracture &
dislocation
- Bandaging
- CPR
- Ambulance
The skills taught are
within the kids ability. Programme is carry out in an interactive way. Hands
on session, videos, playing games, sing songs are inserted within the
programme. Kids also will have the chance to visit the ambulance.
