emergency ambulance with
well-trained medic to reach the scene and
provides pre-hospital care to preserve life. EMAS Penang, play the vital
role and stationed in the community, we are just near you.
Being the
first community-based emergency ambulance service, EMAS Penang, stationed at
Bayan Lepas area, covering the South West District of Penang Island with aim
to reduce the response time.
As the existing emergency ambulance
service provider, i.e. Penang Hospital, Malaysian Civil Defense (JPAM)
located at the George Town area, the time taken for the emergency ambulance
to respond to emergency within the South
West District of Penang is longer.
EMAS
Penang started her service since 24 Dec 2005, helping the injured and sick,
and has repeatedly
PROVEN, that the
respond time has been successfully reduced to the minimum.
By having its ambulance stationed at Jalan Tengah, Bayan Baru, EMAS Penang
able to respond within minutes to any call within its coverage area (Bayan
Baru 2 - 3 minutes, Bayan Lepas within 5 minutes; compared with 30 minutes
from Penang General Hospital).
It has been
a key partner of the ambulance services of Penang Hospital in ensuring
better availability of ambulances, and a much better respond time for the
community that it serves.
We are glad
that the Ministry of Health allow us to station our base at the compound
of Poliklinik Bayan Baru. Our operation base consists of two cabins, equipped
with all the necessary operation equipments, Call Centre, training area,
medics standby and rest corner, mini kitchen, equipment store and all
necessary items.
SJAM Emergency
Ambulance Services, expend gradually thoughout the country, aim to
